Job Instructions
You will help our Starters (John and Corley) and Clerk of Course (Richard) keep the meet moving!
Stand behind the starting blocks and confirm the next heat is in proper lanes (using heat sheet).
Important: First Heat has only 6 swimmers!! Lane 1 and Lane 8 will ALWAYS be empty for first heat only.
- Your focus is just the upcoming heat so swimmers are ready for the starter
- They are standing behind the block, not on the block
- Starter will ask them to step up, if they don’t walk behind and ask them
- Confirm empty lanes are expected.
- Confirm home and away swimmers.
Your only goal is to make sure the next heat of kids is ready and keep the meet moving. Delays in starts builds up quickly!
This is for 10 & U only (timers return to the starting side for older kids and will control those swimmers).
