Hello Killer Whales!

We hope everyone had fun at the Red White meet last night and that you are all looking forward to next Tuesday’s meet vs Medfield at the SV pool (home meet).

We plan to send out a weekly team email on Wednesdays/Thursdays post-meet results, recognitions, and information. However, since Red/White is an intrasquad time trial format, this week will look different with less information. 

Swimmer Times:

Once we get last night’s times loaded into the system, you will be able to view all of the swimmers’ times in the SWIMTOPIA MOBILE APP. With the free version, you should be able to see times once everyone’s times are entered and collectively published. Our goal is to have that completed by the end of the day Thursday. If you run into problems viewing these let us know.

To find the times in SwimTopia:

  • Log in and select “Past Events”
  • Click on the Meet you want to view (for this past meet it is: “Red- White Meet & PIcture Day”)
  • Next to “Swim Events”, click on the drop down arrow and select “SV Killer Whales”
  • Select the event you want to see to view times.

A NOTE ABOUT UPGRADING TO Swimtopia PRO:

 Our main goal for the Swimtopia Mobile App is to be able to send last minute alerts to your phone. This is available on the free app.

You have the option to upgrade to Swimtopia Pro for a small fee if you wish to see your swimmer’s times as we enter them individually, instead of waiting for them all, BUT, we want to be clear that, at this time we do not anticipate being able to add all swimmer times LIVE at the swim meets. So, this feature may not be available to you.

Swim Numbers

The number your swimmer was assigned at last night’s meet will be their swimmer number for the whole season. If you still need to find their swimmer number, it will be on the heat sheets on the poster boards at the diving board again next Tuesday:

Doe, Jane (age) XX - the last digits is your swimmer number

Volunteers

THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, who helped everything run smoothly last night. We know there were a lot of first time swim team volunteers on deck and y’all did great!!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our Kid Pushers and Timers who helped keep our newer swimmers stay on track behind the blocks and during relays. You guys ROCKED it!!

Recognizing Coach Margaret

Thank you so much to the families who have already donated contributions to a team gift for former Head Coach, Margaret Geiger. We have raised over $200 so far, through your generosity. If your kids swam with the team under Coach Margaret, and you would like to show your appreciation, please send Venmo donations to @lesley-kohler or PayPal donations to @kohlercash (please make sure the payment is between "friends" rather than a business transaction, so that we don't have to pay service fees.)

Any gift is welcome, but 100% voluntary. Absolutely no pressure whatsoever to contribute money to this gift.

A Note on Talking to Coaches During Swim Practice

We’re asking parents to please enable our coaches to be able to give their undivided attention to your children during practice. Our coaches welcome your questions/concerns about your swimmers, but please approach them before or after practice, not during. This helps the coaches keep an undistracted eye on the kids safety, as well as allows them to make the most of the practice time.

Withdrawing Your Swimmer

Registration fees are refundable through THIS Friday June 10th.

Please email us at [email protected] if you need to withdraw your swimmer.

Because the team has to absorb a number of fixed costs regardless of enrollment, no refunds will be honored after June 10th.

SVKW Alerts for Delayed or Cancelled Practices

ALL SVKW News and Alerts will be sent only 

through the SwimTopia App. We will use this app to notify you of last-minute changes, such as practices being delayed/cancelled, or updates on weather delays during meets. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to go to our website (below) and download the SwimTopia Mobile to your phone so you don’t miss out on important information. You will log in with the same credentials you used to sign up for swim team on the Swimtopia website.

Team Photographs

Stephanie Zipparo expects to reach out to us in a couple of weeks with information on how to purchase the team and individual photographs.

We Need Your Photographs for the Awards Night Slide Show

We are hoping to have a photomontage video of the 2022 swim season at the end of the Awards Night, so we need families to submit photographs. We are looking for action photos, individual, and family and friends bonding. Please submit photos that are clear. How to add photos:

  • June 13th MORNING PRACTICE STARTS Monday, Thursday & Friday morning practices will be added to the schedule.
  • June 14th DUAL MEET vs MEDFIELD (home)
  • June 23rd ICE CREAM SOCIAL & Bingo Co-sponsored with SV pool 6-8:00 PM. Time to cool off with everyone's favorite treat. Create your own ice cream creation (sign-up coming soon)!
  • June 27th SWIM TEAM BREAKFAST 8:30-11:00 AM.  A favorite of the summer! Enjoy your favorite breakfast foods with your teammates!

Stay tuned for more information about our first dual meet on Tuesday 6/14. We will be hosting Medfield for a home meet at our pool.
