Meet Against Medfield Details
Warm-Up for home meets begins promptly at 5pm and the meet itself starts at 6pm. Please plan to arrive earlier than 5pm to set up and have your swimmers ready to go right at 5pm. There will be pizza, Bojangles sandwiches, drinks, and general concessions for sale, as well as Killer Whale Spirit Wear
Volunteer Needs: Place Judge and 1 second-half Timer. Click here to sign up
A Note on Spirit Wear: Due to some supply chain delays we will not be selling Killer Whale Spirit Wear at this meet. We apologize for the inconvenience if you were hoping to purchase and will let you know when our stock is replenished.
Please remember to bring: your swimmer's goggles, swim caps, snacks, lots of beverages to stay hydrated in the hot sun, a couple of towels, folding chairs for you, sunscreen, warm clothes for chilly nights and a few small toys/activities to entertain your swimmer. Also, please have a black sharpie to write your swimmer's number on their arm.
Remember: Swimmers, please stay near your age group so the kid pushers can find you easily. We set up the white tents in hope that the kids will use it as a place to hang out in-between their heats so grab your towel and water bottle and come hang out with your team! Parents, keep an ear and eye out to make sure your kids are staying on the pool deck and under the tents when they need to be starting to line up for their races. The Kid Pushers are NOT expected to go around the pool trying to round up missing kids. This allows for faster and more efficient meets.
Parking at Home Meets
We leave our parking lot open for the visiting team.
When you park along the street, please do not block any residents' driveways or hydrants. We understand that due to the timing of our meets, several families end up with two cars at the meet. If at all possible, please attempt to have only one car by carpooling with friends or walking from home when possible.
Swimsuits & Caps Worn at Meets
NO YEAR ROUND, HS TEAM CAPS, or SUITS at TSA meets. This is against TSA rules and may lead your swimmer to be disqualified. The spirit of this TSA rule is that non-year-round swimmers won't be intimidated when they see another swimmer wearing a year-round cap or suit. Please do not risk being DQ by doing so.
SVKW Swimmers should wear a solid black suit with a SV swim cap* to meets. We noticed multiple girls with long hair not wearing caps. Caps help keep your hair out of your face and help your goggles stay on and we encourage everyone to wear one.
*we are currently sold out of SV swim caps due to supply chain delays. You may also purchase solid white/black swim caps from All American Swim, Dicks Sporting Goods, or Amazon.
Swimmer Numbers
For all meets, write your swimmer number on both arms, large and neat with SV above it. The timers need to be able to read these numbers easily. Please no ROMAN NUMERALS or adornments like smiley faces and curly Q's around the numbers.
Volunteers: Check-In/Arrive early
All meet volunteers will receive an email regarding specific job start times and group meeting times. Please refer to your job signup schedule (my account in swimtopia) for your assigned dates & jobs. Make sure you arrive in plenty of time to check in and fulfill your full obligation. If you cannot fulfill your obligation, contact Anne Hensley [email protected] as soon as possible.
Swim Team Venmo Account
The SV Pool Venmo account and the SV Swim Team Venmo accounts look very similar and we have, understandably, been having accounting mix ups with people using the wrong venmo account.
The SWIM TEAM venmo looks like this and is used to pay for Spirit Wear merchandise (when offered) and our separate concessions table items.
At swim meets, you will only use the SV POOL account at the snack bar.
We know this can be super confusing. A great way to ensure you’re using the right acct is to scan the QR code where you are paying instead of scrolling through your payment history.
Private Swim Lessons
Our coaches are available to give private swim lessons at the pool for an additional charge. This is a great opportunity to get focused attention on improving specific strokes, dives, and turns. Please contact them directly if your swimmer needs that little bit of extra attention. These lessons are not affiliated with the SVKW Team and lessons/payment should be worked out privately with the coaches. Click here for their contact info.
