Hello Killer Whales,
It was so awesome to host another team at our pool for our first in-person, dual meet in THREE YEARS!! We hope everyone had fun watching, racing, and cheering on your teammates.
Despite our swimmers’ best efforts and fast swims, The Medfield Sharks won last night’s meet with 280 points to our 234 points. Let’s continue working hard in practice this week as we prep for our next away meet against Prestonwood on Tuesday, 6/21 (details coming soon).
How are meets scored? Each team has three main event swimmers in the first heat of their age group events who have the opportunity to earn points for the team. First-place finishers earn 5 points, second-place finishers earn 3 points, and third-place finishers earn 1 point.

Personal Best Times Shout Outs
Our swimmers just keep getting faster!
Congratulations to everyone that achieved the personal best swim time at Tuesday’s meet. 225 swimmers dropped their times and that is quite an accomplishment.
If your swimmer did not drop time, do not be discouraged. We have five more meets to achieve those personal best times.
Swimmers with the biggest personal time drops (6/14):
Each week we'll shine our spotlight on a swimmer from each age group / per stroke that had the biggest time drop. Additionally, each week we will be awarding a free ice cream voucher from FRESH Local Ice Cream to the MOST IMPROVED swimmer in each of the six age groups (highlighted in red below). Prizes will be given out at next Tuesday’s meet to the swimmers in red.

Shout Out to Our Volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who showed up and worked hard to make last night’s meet possible.
Special recognition goes to Kate Helmedag (our resident Meet Maestro guru) and to Meredith Nance & Lily Nguyen (our Ribbon Coordinators). This was our very first in-person, live-scoring dual meet with the new scoring system and these guys had their hands full last night, wrestling the system to make it work for everyone. THANK YOU!!!
Picking up Award Ribbons after Meets
Award Ribbons for Personal Best (for ages 12 and under) and Meet Placement (all ages) will start to be handed out this week. Ribbon folders have been made for each family and will be kept at the front lifeguard check-in station or snack bar. When you check-in for the pool (anytime it's open) simply mention to the lifeguard on duty that you have ribbons to pick up and they will check your family's folder for you. Our goal is to have the placement ribbon boxes available by 5pm on Wednesdays after the meet. Personal Best ribbons will arrive a few days later. Swimmers 10 and under should continue to receive a participation ribbon and/or heat winner ribbon at the meet itself.
Placement Ribbons are awarded for places 1 through 6 of the main event heat and for the relays. If your swimmer was disqualified in a race, there will be no ribbon awarded.
Personal best ribbons If you do not have one in your folder, but feel you should have received one, please contact Meredith Nance.
Questions on ribbons? Please contact Meredith Nance ([email protected]).
RECOGNIZING COACH MARGARET - email photos
Thank you so much to the families who have already donated contributions to a team gift for former Head Coach, Margaret Geiger. We plan to recognize her during the Senior Night meet at our pool on 7/19. Please remember to email some photos of her with your kids to [email protected].
If you plan to make a contribution to her gift, please send Venmo donations to @lesley-kohler or PayPal donations to @kohlercash (please make sure the payment is between "friends" rather than a business transaction, so that we don't have to pay service fees.) Any gift is welcome, but 100% voluntary. Absolutely no pressure whatsoever to contribute money to this gift.
SUBMIT MEET PHOTOS FOR THE AWARDS NIGHT SLIDE SHOW
We are hoping to have a photomontage video of the 2022 swim season at the end of the Awards Night, so we need families to submit photographs. We are looking for action photos, individuals, and family and friends bonding. Please submit photos that are clear. Click the link below to access our album and then click on the “add photos” icon on the top right of the screen
