Hi Killer Whales!
This upcoming Tuesday is our first away meet hosted by Prestonwood. While we may have lost this past week, Tuesday is a new day! Practice hard, swim your best, and show good sportsmanship by cheering on your teammates and being respectful to the competing team+the adults volunteering and it will be an awesome meet!
Sign Your Swimmer Up BEFORE Sunday Noon
Please, please sign your swimmer(s) up for this meet BEFORE the deadline - 12 noon on Sunday 6/19 (on the website click here).
Please view noon on Sunday as a FIRM deadline and make sure you set a reminder to declare your swimmer beforehand. As we’ve moved to competing against other teams, it is super important to declare your swimmer by the deadline. Once we merge our data with the competing team, later that day, it is messy and complicated to make changes (and sometimes impossible!). As soon as you see these pre-meet emails hop on and declare your swimmer!
How to declare your swimmer (click here for instructions)
If an emergency arises after 5pm the Monday before a meet and your child will be missing all or part of the meet, please contact Coach Emma or Meg as soon as possible by e-mailing them at: [email protected] or [email protected]
SV Volunteer Needs:
Sign up for one of our empty volunteer roles if you’re able:
- 9-10 Boy Kid Pusher,
- 3 Timers First Half,
- 2 Timers Second Half.
A BIG thank you to our Big Whales! You have been great with their Little Whales and it has been very nice to see so many happy faces. Thank you for making the Little Whales swim season so special.

Parking & Entrance:
The parking lot closest to the pool will fill up quickly but your team may use any of the other parking lots, all located within the club complex and within walking distance of the pool.
The pool entrance is on the left side of the aquatics and fitness facility on the far end of the parking lot when you come in. It is an outdoor entrance (Look for the golf carts).

Volunteer Check-in/meeting is at 5:45pm by the check-in table.
Seating + Swim Deck Area
Please stay out of the other pools and the slides and keep to the swim meet designated areas.
There will be a few shaded cabanas and tables for your SV swimmers and volunteer check-in. We do have limited seating on the deck and we encourage your team to bring chairs and tents. Parents, thank you for helping remind your kids stay on deck and be on-time to the line-up! Encourage them to look for their kid-pusher signs and stay close by on deck.
Concessions:
Prestonwood's regular hot/cold snack bar and a quick-serve station with cold sandwiches and items will be open to both teams. Note that service at the regular snack bar can be slow at times.
Ribbons will be printed after the meet.
Vote for your Favorite Poster Contest:
If you made a poster during our Welcome Back Spirit Night in early June, the posters will be hung up next week beginning Monday evening. Each one will be assigned a number and there will be a box to vote for your favorite ones!
Swimsuits & Caps Worn at Meets
NO YEAR ROUND, HS TEAM CAPS, or SUITS at TSA meets This is against TSA rules and may lead your swimmer to be disqualified. The spirit of this TSA rule is that non-year round swimmers won't be intimidated when they see another swimmer wearing a year round cap or suit. Please do not risk being DQ by doing so.
SVKW Swimmers should wear a solid black suit with a SV swim cap* to meets. We noticed multiple girls with long hair not wearing caps. Caps help keep your hair out of your face and help your goggles stay on and we encourage everyone to wear one.
*we are currently sold out of SV swim caps due to supply chain delays. You may also purchase solid white/black swim caps from All American Swim, Dicks Sporting Goods, or Amazon.
