Good Morning Killer Whales!

Tomorrow, Tuesday June 28, we have our next AWAY meet and we're swimming against the Cary Park Sea Dragons.  Our challenge to you this week is to be loud! Show your pride in your teammates by making some NOISE cheering them on throughout the meet. And as always, don't forget to represent our team well by showing good sportsmanship, and be respectful to the competing team as well as to the adult volunteers as they help run another awesome meet. We don't need to tell you to swim your best because you are rocking it so far this year! Let's go Killer Whales!

Emergencies after the sign up deadline: 

By now, you should have declared your swimmer for tomorrow's meet.  If an emergency arises due to sickness, etc. after the Sunday noon deadline and a child will be missing all or part of the meet, please contact Coach Emma or Meg as soon as possible by e-mailing them at: [email protected] or [email protected]

Check the Relay List

When you arrive at the meet, please double-check the relay list to see if you're swimming.  We've had people leaving before their relay, not realizing they've signed up for it. We know it's easy to forget to check for relays when you declare your swimmer but we can't do relays with missing kids. If you accidentally signed up and must leave early, please make arrangements with the coaches before leaving to make sure your spot is covered. 

Pre-Meet Warm Up+Volunteer Schedule

Our SVKW Warm up times start at 5:25pm. Arriving by 5pm to get set up and ready to go right at 5:30pm is strongly advised. Here's the timeline for when you need to be where!

  • Volunteers, check-in when you arrive: 
  • 5:25pm: 10&Under warm-up
  • 5:40pm: 10&Up Warm Up
  • 5:40pm: Volunteer Meeting @ clubhouse
  • 5:55pm: Team cheer with all swimmers.
  • 7-8 relays line up immediately after cheer, all other relay swimmers should stay close by and be ready to go. 

SV Volunteer Needs:

Please sign up for one of our empty volunteer roles if you’re able: Place Judge, Runner, 4 Second Half Timers, Clerk of Course Assistant (new position). We NEED people in these spots to be able to run the meet efficiently. Email Anne at [email protected] for details. 

Cary Park Meet Details:

Location: Cary Park Clubhouse: 5353 Cary Glen Blvd, Cary, NC 27519

Adult Relay: There will be a Coaches/Parent Relay at the half-way mark. If you're interested in participating email: [email protected] and we'll sign you up!

Concessions: Pizza, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Any extra Chick Fil A will be first come, first serve. 

Parking & Entrance: There are several rows reserved for the visiting team parking in our parking lot (attached). Once those spots are full, the visiting team needs to park on side streets. Please do not block intersections or driveways. Please do not park on Cary Glen Blvd or around the circle. Thanks so much.

Seating & Restrooms 

  • Visiting team may sit on the porch. There is no spectator seating on deck, it’s a view and go only zone.
  • Swimmers please use restrooms in the pool area, not in the clubhouse.

Team Photos Deadline is June 30th

ALL TEAM PHOTO ORDERS ARE DUE BY TUESDAY JUNE 30th AT MIDNIGHT!

Coach Appreciation Lunch: 

On Friday, July 8th we'll be hosting a Coach Appreciation Lunch.  If you'd like to bring a card and/or gift card to give them, you can drop them off at the snack bar anytime between now and then (or bring them on 7/8 to give in person).
