Week #1 of 2023 SVKW

Welcome back to the pool, Killer Whales!

It was so great to see all of the kids at practice. We hope everything went well for you and your swimmers last night.

We have a couple of items to review this week.

(1) RSVP for Swim Team Photographs

Warlick Photography is scheduled to be at SV Pool on Tuesday 6/6, to take our 2023 team photograph and to shoot 1:1 pictures of your swimmers before the Red/White meet starts.

The photographer wants to set up a schedule for the 1:1 photographs so that he can keep things moving in a timely manner. We need your RSVP so that he knows how many time slots to plan for.

Can you please use the link below to RSVP if you are planning to have a 1:1 photo taken of your kid(s) on 6/6?

There is no obligation to buy the photographs if you choose not to - just like school pictures.

Start time has to be confirmed, but the photographer is planning to set up at the pool around 3pm for 1:1 shots. The team photo with all swimmers will be around 5:15pm and the meet is scheduled to start at 6pm.

(2) New Swim Team Parents

We know that starting swim team for the first time can be very confusing and a little overwhelming for many parents.

We have all been there!!

We also have a lot of new swimmers/families this year, so you are not alone in trying to figure out how everything works!!

We promise that everyone on the team will be happy to help you, so please do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions if you are confused about something.

If you are new to summer swim, please plan to attend one of the following New Member meetings at the pool:

  • Saturday 5/27 @ 3pm (Lesley Kohler)
  • Saturday 6/3 @ 10am (Anne Hensley)
  • Thursday 6/8 @ 5:45pm (Anne Hensley)

These meetings are an informal opportunity to meet board members and ask questions about summer swim. How do you sign your swimmer up for a meet? How do you sign up for volunteer credit? What do you need to do if you are away on vacation? etc etc

There is also a lot of information on our website, so please try to take some time to look around there if you have questions.

(3) Download SwimTopia Mobile app for team alerts

Please take a moment to go to our website and download the SwimTopia Mobile to your phone. You will use the same login information that you set up at registration. Please take a look at this helpful article for step by step instructions.

We will use this app to notify you of last minute changes, such as practices being delayed, or thunder breaks at meets and we don't want you to miss out on those alerts....so please make sure to set the mobile app up ASAP so you are not left in the dark.
