Happy Weekend Killer Whales!
This week is a home meet and we'll be swimming against the Abbington Alligators.
Declare your swimmer and pre-order pizza this morning so you can sit back and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Go Killer Whales!
SVKW Board
Declare your swimmer by Sunday, 6/18 by Noon.
- First: Declare Attending or Not Attending?
- Second: Relays (only swimmers aged 7 and up): The default is AVAILABLE for relays. Skipping this step means you'll most likely end up swimming in a relay.
- Third: Special Cases Comment Box: Swimmers will be entered in all eligible individual events automatically. Please leave a short comment if your swimmer does not want to participate in a specific event or if you're coming late/leaving early, etc. While we hope and prefer that kids will try all events (just do your best!), we understand some are still working on strokes, endurance, and overall confidence. We want to set your kids up for success, so if they aren't ready for all strokes that is fine, let the coaches know “no fly”.
Emergencies after the Swimmer Declaration deadline - don’t be a no-show:
The key thing to remember is please communicate your plans to us at all times so our heat sheets stay accurate.
- Pre-meet: if an emergency arises and a child will be missing all or part of a meet please inform the coaches of the change as soon as possible by e-mailing them at: [email protected].
- At the meet if something arises and you need to suddenly leave: Coach Lauren is designated to help you alert the people that need to know. This is super important to help us keep the meet running smoothly.
TSA Rep reminder:
Make sure to find your SVKW TSA Rep if you have any concerns or issues that arise with the other team's coaches, parents, or swimmers during our meet. They also serve as our Parent/Coach Liaison for our SVKW Team.
Pre-Meet Warm Up + Volunteer Schedule
Our SVKW Warm up times for home meets start at 4:55pm. Arriving earlier than this to get set up and ready to go on time is strongly advised. Here's the timeline for when you need to be where!
- Volunteers, check-in as you arrive, by 5:30pm.
- 4:55 pm: 10/Under warm-up
- 5:10pm: 11/Up Warm Up
- 5:45pm: Meeting for timers & order of finish judges and in the baby pool area
- 5:45pm: meeting for kid pushers (check for location when you arrive)
- 5:25pm: Team cheer with all swimmers.
- 5:55pm: Line up for relays!
Volunteer Needs:
We need 1 Timer for the Second Half. Please contact Anne if you can serve in this role.
Romeo's Pizza:
Dinner on Tuesday night is brought to you by Romeo's Pizza! You can pre-order anything off their menu or purchase pepperoni or cheese pizza on-site. Pre-orders can be picked up from their tent in the SV Parking lot the night of the meet. Skip the line and pre-order (see flier attached for ordering instructions).
Meet Against Abbington Alligators Information
Check the Heat Sheets: When you arrive, check the heat sheets right away to make sure you know all your events. We know mistakes happen and if you end up declared for a relay or event you didn't intend to swim it's super helpful to just go with it since changing heat sheets at the Meet is super complicated. But we know that's not always possible so if there's an issue: let Coach Lauren know asap. Don't just skip.
Volunteers: All scheduled volunteers will receive an email from Anne.
Parking at Home Meets: We reserve our parking lot for the visiting team. When you park along the street, please do not block any residents' driveways or fire hydrants. Carpooling is highly recommended due to the limited parking.
Seating: Seating is available around the pool deck and outside of the fence (visiting team usually sets up to the left, near the swing/grills area). We set up the white tents to encourage the kids to hang out in-between their heats with their KW Pod so grab your towel, water bottle, and activities and come hang out with your team! Make sure you are ready to go when they announce your event
Be On Deck: Parents, It’s not the kid pusher's job to come find your child for their event. Please make sure you are keeping them close and making sure they are in line when their age group is called.
Concessions: SVKW Snack bar + Romeos Pizza on Site
Alcoholic Drinks: TSA rules prohibit Alcoholic beverages at meets. Please help us avoid the risk of disqualification by adhering to this rule.
Spirit Wear: Will be available for purchase at this Meet.
Tidal Car Wash Vouchers:
Back by popular demand! Tidal Car Wash Vouchers will be on sale at this meet at or nearby the Spirit Wear Table. These sell out FAST so if you want one, don't wait to purchase. They make fantastic gifts.
Ice Cream Social:
RSVP for our Ice Cream Social on June 22.
