Hi Killer Whales!

We’re happy to announce that at this past weeks meet you circled up your pods, fought as a team, and scared those sharks off to find prey elsewhere. Your cheers for your teammates were the best part!

Our final score from this week's meet is Killer Whales 287 and Sharks 226. Great Job Killer Whales!

Make sure you check your family folders after a meet for your Personal Best (ages 12 and under) and Meet Placement (all ages) ribbons. On Fridays/Saturdays, you can get them from the Coaches during practice. Or ask for them from the SV concession attendant anytime you’re at the pool.

Cary City Meet: Declare your Swimmers ASAP

Please declare if your swimmer is attending OR not attending this meet asap so we know we have everyone accounted for.  We have to submit our swimmers in less than a week. There are two meet entries listed on the  SignUp Calendar on 7/15: one for 10/under and one for 11/up. If you have kids in both age groups, you'll need to declare in both meet entries. 

Our Theme is  "Under the Sea." Start planning your costumes and we'll email the participating swimmers more information on helping to make decorations.

Volunteer Shout Out:

The Swim Board would like to give a huge shout out to Anne Hensley, for going above and beyond at the Silverton meet this week. I don't think any of us really understands how much work goes into getting all of the volunteers set up for each meet and making sure all volunteer needs are covered on the meet night, but we do know that it is A LOT of work on a weekly basis!!! This week, not only was Anne responsible for all of her usual duties, but she also stepped in to cover Meet Admin duties to cover for vacation schedules. She had to learn a whole new skill set to make sure all of the main events were entered and the meet was able to be scored live. Anne Hensley - if we had a Volunteer of the Week award, you would certainly have earned it this week! THANK YOU

Parents, you can share any photos you take during SVKW Meets to our team Google Folder to be considered for the end-of-year slideshow.  To add photos: Click on this Link to the folder, then Click "NEW" then select "FILE UPLOAD" and lastly SELECT PHOTOS from your computer/device to upload.

End of Year Raffle:

We're still accepting items/gift cards for our end-of-year raffle at our Awards Banquet if you know of a business that would like to donate a gift card or merchandise.  

Tidal Wave Car Wash Vouchers (flier attached to email)

We have more vouchers in and will be selling them at the Spirit Wear table at our remaining home meet on Tuesday 7/11( TWO meets away ). If you won't be able to make it, you can also reach out to us at [email protected] to request them. If you prepay via Venmo (@svkillerwhales), we will make arrangements for you to pick up your vouchers at the pool. **(Please note that we are NOT planning to do walk-up sales this year at the Lifeguard desk.)
