Hi Killer Whales!
Tiger sharks are known for their quick, stealthy bursts of speed but that didn't stop you from swimming away with the win this week! The final score was
Killer Whales 303 and Tiger Sharks 211
More importantly, you made your team proud with your encouragement to others. As we were leaving, a host team personnel commented to us that our swimmers showed great sportsmanship by cheering on our team, but also cheering for the Preston Village swimmers. That was a wonderful comment to get at the end of the night. Thank you for being a fantastic team and caring for those around you!
Don't forget to check your declarations for the next meet and your family folders at the SV Snack Bar for your personal best and top winners ribbons. They should be in there by the end of the day on Sunday.
See you on Deck!

July 12: Cary City Meet
What do Carnivals, Jurassic Park, Pac-Man, and Mad Scientists have in common? These, along with a few others, are all potential themes for year's Cary City Meet! CCM is a fun day of swimming against many of the teams in our league. Kara Snokes, our coordinator, has put together a webpage with all the details, as well as a link to vote on the theme. Check it out, vote on the theme, and email Kara with any questions. We hope to see you there!
Tie-Dye Event: Tonight!
Don't forget to bring a white t-shirt tonight for our Tie-Dye event from 5pm - 8pm. We have adult-M and adult-XL (great for swim covers!), specially printed t-shirts for sale tonight ($10). As well as youth-M plain white shirts ($5). All other sizes have sold out but you can bring your own white shirt (preferably pre-whashed). Full details are on our Sign-Up Calendar.
6/10 Preston Village Meet Notes and Records:
Swim Caps: We strongly encourage all swimmers to wear our SV logo caps to our dual swim meets. As you may have noticed last night, occasionally we'll swim against a team with the same colors and that makes it hard to know which team is in each lane during heats. You can pick up an SV Swim Cap at our next home meet. While we allow solid black caps, we would love to see ALL swimmers proudly display their team allegiance on their head!
Shout-Outs: This meet could have been extra long if not for the dedicated work of the Meet Personnel running a tight ship and keeping us on-time! Thank them next time you see them for how quickly and smoothly the PV meet ran.
Congrats to our Swimmers of the Week: Camden Hyatt and Greyden Snoke. You have earned a red swim cap! Click here for SOTW Criteria.
Congrats to our Team Record Breaker:
With a time of 30.73, Connor Nguyen (14) broke the team record for 13/14 boys Breaststroke. The previous record was held by Ryan Silver, who scored 30.84 in 2017. Congratulations, Connor, on this big achievement!
Congrats to our Double Winner (6/under),
Declan Sullivan (6) - 1st in 15yd Free and Back
Congrats to our Triple Winner (7+)
Connor Nguyen (14) - 1st in 50 Free, Breast, and Fly
Swimmers with the Biggest Personal Best Time Drops:
We're shining the spotlight on the swimmers listed below who had the largest time drops in their age groups for each event. We highlight the top time drops for one female and one male swimmer per stroke/age group. The names highlighted in RED, with the highest overall drop per age group, will be awarded a free ice cream voucher from FRESH Local Ice Cream. Prizes will be placed in your family’s ribbon folder within the week. Congratulations swimmers!
