Hi Killer Whales,
It's time to check your declarations before tomorrow's noon deadline, plus bring your team spirit, encouraging attitudes, and lots of hydrating drinks as we swim against the Prestonwood Piranas at this week's home meet. Our theme is: Red, White, & Blue. Decorate your space and wear your favorite July 4th accessories.
Volunteer Needs: The main need is two subs. We also need a 9-10 Girls Kid Pusher (able to stay through final relays). Sign up through the Job SignUp link on the Calendar in Swimtopia.
Some highlights for this meet: We have a couple of new food trucks in addition to Romeo's Pizza. Our spirit wear team has also restocked the youth size sweatshirts and gray t-shirts. Sweatshirts make great Christmas presents! We also have some new body art and shade tent guidelines to share below.
As a reminder, please be courteous and leave the SV Pool parking lot empty for the visiting team. They are a larger team and will need all the spots available.
Let's Go Killer Whales!

Reminder: Emergencies after the Swimmer Declaration Deadline:
If an emergency arises due to sickness or injury after the meet declaration deadline, here’s who to contact. Please communicate and don't be a no-show! Alot of work goes into running a timely and smooth meet and we appreciate timely communication.
- After the Sunday noon deadline but before 3 pm Tuesdays: if your swimmer will be missing all, or part of a meet, please inform the coaches of the change as soon as possible by emailing them at: [email protected].
- After 3:00 pm Tuesday (or at the meet): If you cannot attend at all, please email the coaches AND text a friend to tell them when they arrive. Coaches may/may not get emails after 3 pm Tuesdays once they are en route to the pool, so as many people as know, the better. If you are at the pool already, please inform the coaches in person if you need to leave suddenly.
- Volunteers: email our volunteer coordinator team if you have an emergency that prevents you from serving at this meet.

7/1 Meet Information:
Location: SV Pool (Home Meet)
Theme: Red, White, and Blue
Bring: Sharpie, lawn chairs, snacks, towels, warm clothing for chilly nights, goggles, cap, UNO or another game to keep young ones occupied, lots of hydrating drinks and snacks.
A note on Body Art: We know it's super fun to write things on your back for meets! Recently, the SV pool has invested in really nice new pool chairs, and we've run into staining issues at the last home meet. Since not all of the pool chairs may get cleared from the deck, please refrain from using body paint or Sharpie art on your back if you are using them instead of your personal chairs.
Parking: The SV pool lot is reserved for food trucks and the visiting team. Our team parks only on the street. When you park, please be considerate of the pool neighbors and do not block any resident's driveways, fire hydrants, or the greenway crosswalk. Carpooling is highly recommended due to the limited parking.
Seating: SVKW Seating is available around the right side of the pool deck entrance and outside of the fence. The visiting team sets up on the left side swing/grill area. Please bring your own folding chairs since we clear the deck of the pool chairs.
New Shade Tent Guidelines: If you want to use a shade tent, please either set up on the other side of the pool - beside the Whale House - or set up outside the gates on the grass. The new umbrella bases are so heavy, the tables (and possibly the chairs) will now be staying on deck during meets. This means there is less open space on the far side of the pool, opposite the starting platforms. As this area gets really crowded with spectators during the meet, there is no longer enough space in this spot for families to put up pop-up shade tents. Thanks for your understanding.
On Sale This Meet:
Spirit Wear will be sold at this meet (we've restocked the youth size sweatshirts and gray t-shirts! Get them quick before they sell out again.)
Tidal Car Wash Vouchers will also be sold this meet! They expire Aug. 2026. They are $10 for a $30 voucher and the SVKW receive back a portion of the sales.
Concessions: We have multiple food truck options this week! The SV snack bar will also be open with its regular assortment of snacks and drinks. TSA Rules prohibit alcoholic beverages at all swim meets. Our team will be disqualified if it's found on-site so please leave it at home.
- Salt and Pepper Food Truck: You can check out their menu and pre-order online here: https://streetfoodfinder.com/SaltAndPepper (scroll down and find the SVKW Pool Event on July 1).
- Death by Taco: View their menu online at: https://streetfoodfinder.com/ncdeathxtaco.
- Romeo's Pizza will also be on site again. It is highly recommended to pre-order Romeo's before 4:30 pm on Tuesday by calling the number on the flyer attached. They bring a limited amount of pepperoni and cheese pizza's but they sell out fast (bringing exact cash is preferred).
Check the Posterboard Heat Sheets when you arrive:
When you arrive at the meet, double-check the physical posterboard heat sheets on the diving board (not just the app). Changes are often made last minute if swimmers have an emergency. Big Whales: check your LW heat sheets to see if they are swimming this meet, and when.
Parents: Make sure your swimmers are on deck and ready to go at the first call for their events. It’s not the kid pushers' job to find your child for their event.
TSA Liaison Role:
If you have concerns or conflicts that arise during the meet, please refrain from discussing these issues directly with the opposing team's coaches, swimmers, and parents, as well as the SVKW Coaches. Our TSA Reps are there to help you resolve any issues that may arise.
Cards for Coach Meg:
If you missed our post-meet note, we'll be doing an official send-off for Coach Meg at the 7/8 Home meet. If you cannot make the July 8th Swim Meet, swimmers can bring pictures/cards/etc for Coach Meg to this meet. We'll have a table set up outside the back gate with a bin to drop them into. We'll also have a couple of poster-sized cards you can sign as well!
Upcoming Events:
- 7/1: Home Meet
- 7/4 & 7/5 No Practices
- Ice Cream Social (7/10) RSVP is open! Please let us know if you're attending/not attending so we can have enough ice cream for all!
- 7/8 Home Meet; Senior Night; Send-Off for Coach Meg
Thank you to our SVKW Sponsors!
