7/8 Dutchman Downs Post-Meet Recap
In this Newsletter:
Happy Friday, Killer Whales!
This past week's home meet was full of all the things that we love about summer swim. Teammates having fun together, spectators cheering, recognizing dedicated swimmers who lead the way in supporting their teammates, good food, and, as a bonus, a breeze to break up the humid summer air. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Our final score from this past week was: SV Killer Whales 274 and DD Dolphins 240. With 4 wins and 1 loss, this moves us to the top of the Southern League Division 3 teams. Way to go, SVKW!
You can submit any photos you took for consideration in the EOY Slideshow here.
We'll be cheering on our Cary City Meet team this Saturday, which means no Sat. morning practice tomorrow. But we hope to see you this morning for Fun Friday at 9am and then again for our final two days of practice on Monday and Tuesday next week.
See you on Deck!

Picking up Award Ribbons after Meets
Check your family folders after a meet for your Personal Best (ages 12 and under) and Meet Placement (all ages) ribbons. You can ask for the file box from the concession attendant or lifeguard front desk anytime you’re at the pool. Ribbons are typically filed on Fridays. If you think you’re missing a ribbon or have other questions, please get in touch with our ribbon coordinator, Lily Wan [email protected]
Beluga Whales Mini-Meet
Our Beluga Whale swimmers have worked really hard this year also! They are having a mini-meet on July 19, 9am - 10am to show off their skills. Coach Rosemary sent out this note, if you can help, contact her to sign up!
Hello all! The Beluga meet is coming up soon, and we need volunteers to be big whales in the water on the day of the meet. For high schoolers, this would also be a good opportunity to get a community service hour. If anyone is interested, please let me know so that I can get a head count! Thank you so much! Coach Rosemary (email)
2025 Awards Ceremony:
Save the date for our end-of-year awards ceremony on Saturday, July 19 at Hope Community Church, Apex, starting at 2 pm.
7/13 Papa Murphy's Fundraiser
Make dinner easy and pick up a delicious take and bake pizza from Papa Murphy's on Sunday, 7/13. Mention the SVKW with the code GIVE30 between 11am and 8pm and they will donate 30% of sales back to our team (or show them the flier attached).
Thank you to everyone who supported our last Papa Murphy's Spirit Night Fundraiser in June. Thanks to your pizza orders, we received a generous $94 donation from PM! These funds will go toward ongoing team needs — such as training equipment updates, meet fees, team gear, awards, software upgrades and more — to help our Killer Whales succeed in and out of the water.
