Urgent Roles we need filled for our 2026 SVKW Season

Happy Spring SV Killer Whales!

Your SVKW Board members were hard at work this week finalizing dates and social events, choosing spirit wear, and organizing all the little things that make our team a fun summer experience.  We'll be sending out some info and news in a few weeks, in anticipation of registration opening at the end of April. For now, we are still in urgent need of two very crucial roles to our team. Please email the contact person noted below if you can help fill these roles (both are 2 - year commitments).

Treasurer (Board Member)

Needed: Immediately
Term: 2-year commitment
Contact:
the SVKW Chair

Our SVKW Treasurer stepped down for this year and we are looking to fill this role ASAP. All your favorite things - such as spirit wear, social event supplies, new equipment, and  using Venmo to purchase SVKW items -  are difficult to order and obtain before the season starts without a treasure to manage the money and pay the bills.  These are all items currently in the works THIS month, so we really need someone to step into this role today. Our past Treasurer will be happy to help you get set up for the coming season.

Can you help us fill this board member role? You'll be relaxed and comfortable during meets, for two full summer swim seasons, since this role fulfills all your volunteer credits.   General duties are managing the team budget, collecting sponsorship checks, issuing payments to suppliers, and attending SVKW board meetings.

Meet Administrator

Needed: mostly for July's meets, but possibly in June too.
This is a multi-person role so you will not be the only one on duty.

Term: 2-year commitment
Contact: the SVKW Volunteer Crew

This role is also very crucial to being able to participate in meets.  We cannot run a meet without this team, and it comes with lots of poolside perks! You get front row seats to the action, sit under a tent that is pre-set up for you, and ice cold waterbottles on-tap, delivered by our hospitality team.  There is plenty of training available for this role, and it's not terribly complicated once you understand how the system works.

General Duties: Manage the meet using the Meet Maestro application (hosted in swimptopia). This includes updating our swimmer changes at the beginning of the meet,  DQs during the meet, and changes required if there are discrepancies between timing and the Order of Finish Official. All under the guidance of TSA representatives and Coaches. More information on this role can be found on our volunteer job description page.

Thank you for considering these roles!
