Killer Whales!

Are you signed up and ready for our Pasta Pump-Up on Monday night, followed by our first dual meet of the Season on Tuesday? This week is a Home Meet and we'll be swimming against the Sunset Ridge Barracudas.  Double-check your Meet status and relays to make sure all is in order before the NOON deadline on Sunday.

Things will be much more crowded this week with two large teams at the pool so please read through the reminders for this meet regarding parking, seating, pop-up tents, body art, and then take a look at our Sponsors for the season!

Pack your team spirit and come eager to cheer on your Killer Whale Pod.

Let's Go Killer Whales!

Declaring Your Swimmer by Sunday Noon:

Declare your swimmer attending / not attending and available / not available for Relays (default is available). The deadone is Sunday Noon and we cannot guarantee your swimmer will be able to be added to the meet if you miss this deadline.

Reminder: Emergencies after the Swimmer Declaration Deadline: Don't be a No-Show for your events and relays.

If an emergency arises due to sickness or injury after the meet declaration deadline, you can contact the below. It is very important that you communicate changes and avoid being a no-show. A lot of work goes into our heat sheets and we must have volunteers in place to run the meet. Keep us informed of your plans!

  • After the Sunday noon deadline but before 3 pm Tuesdays: if your swimmer will be missing all, or part of a meet please inform the coaches of the change as soon as possible by emailing them at: [email protected].
  • After 3:00 pm Tuesday (or at the meet): If you cannot attend at all, please email the coaches AND text a friend to let them know. Coaches may/may not get emails after 3 pm on Tuesdays once they are en route to the pool, so the more people who know, the better. If you are at the pool already, please inform the coaches if you need to leave suddenly.
  • Volunteer Coordination Team: If any of the above occurs and you are also serving, please contact our volunteer team to assist you in stepping out of your duties.

Pre-Meet Warm Up + Volunteer Schedule

  • Meet starts at 6:00 pm

6/9 Sunset Ridge Meet Information:

Location: SV Pool (Home Meet)

Bring: sharpie, lawn chairs, snacks, LOTS of towels, warm clothing for chilly nights, goggles, cap, games or simple crafts to keep young ones occupied, lots of hydrating drinks, and snacks.

Spirit Wear: On Sale this Meet

Body Art Reminders: If you are using the pool's tables and blue chairs, please be mindful about applying any kind of extra sharpie body art and make sure it is not rubbing off on our nice, new chairs (or protect the chair with a towel). In general, the TSA rules prohibit the use of actual body paint at Meets (new rule).

Parking:  For the rest of our Home Meets, the SV pool lot is reserved for the visiting team. Please park on the streets around the pool.  When you park, please be considerate of the pool neighbors and do not block any resident's driveways, fire hydrants, or the greenway crosswalk. Carpooling is highly recommended due to the limited parking.

Seating Reminders: The Visiting Team sits on the left side of the pool (between the shallow end and the swing). SVKW Families can put up chairs to the right of the Whale House, to the right of the pool, or outside the back gate behind the diving boards.

Pop-Up Tent Reminders: The new umbrella bases are so heavy that the tables & chairs will now be staying on deck during meets. This means there is less open space on the far side of the pool, opposite the starting platforms. As this area gets really crowded with spectators during the meet, there is no longer enough space in this spot for families to put up pop-up shade tents. If you want to use a shade tent, please either set up on the other side of the pool, beside the Whale House, or set up outside the gates on the grass. Thanks for your understanding!

Check Posterboard Heat Sheets when you arrive:

When you arrive at the meet, double-check the physical posterboard heat sheets on the diving board (not just the app). Changes are often made last minute if swimmers have an emergency. Big Whales: check your LW heat sheets to see if they are swimming this meet, and when.

Swimmer Numbers: Make sure these are written neatly and without any additional art around them. If you need help finding your swimmer's number, ask anyone standing around the diving board to point them out to you.

Parents: Make sure your swimmers are on deck and ready to go at the first call for their events. It’s not the kid pushers' job to find your child for their event.

On Sale This Meet: Spirit Wear and Tidal Auto Spa Vouchers will be on sale at this meet.

Concessions This Week:

TSA Rules prohibit alcoholic beverages at all swim meets. Our team will be disqualified if it's found on-site so please leave it at home.

  • Romeo's Pizza will be on site. It is highly recommended to pre-order Romeo's before 4:30 pm on Tuesday by calling the number on the flyer (attached).
  • Ty's All Natural (not accepting pre-orders)
  • Buoy Bowls: To Pre-Order: Go to the street finder link and select "Menu" next to our event. You can also pre-order through their app.
  • The SV Pool Snack Bar will have an assortment of snacks and drinks

Tidal Wave Fundraiser:

You can pick up a $30 Tidal Wave Auto Spa Car Wash Voucher at tonight's meet for $10. SVKW receives half of the sales made. Ask about these at our Spirit Wear Table. They make fantastic gifts for any occasion.

TSA Liaison Role:

Each swim team has a TSA representative who acts as a liaison between the two swim teams (and SVKW coaches/parents) during a meet. If you have concerns or conflicts that arise during the meet, please refrain from discussing these issues directly with the opposing team's coaches, swimmers, TSA Rep, and parents, as well as the SVKW Coaches. Our SVKW TSA Reps will be walking around wearing a "TSA "apron and are there to help you resolve any issues that may arise.

Swimsuit and Swim Cap Reminders:

Please make sure swimmers are following our swimsuit guidelines and only wearing team colors. Tech Suits are not allowed and can disqualify a swimmer.

Upcoming Events:
