Hi Killer Whales!
It's a great week to be in the water swimming! Tomorrow we're swimming against the Lochmere Monsters. Pack lots of hydrating drinks and snacks to keep your energy strong and come ready to cheer on your team. Big Whales, Don't forget to check your assignments when you check the heat sheets. Please also note the street parking restrictions below to avoid being ticketed or towed.

Cary City Meet:
Registration will close tomorrow morning, Tues July 2, at 9:30am. Declare your swimmers on the sign-up calendar the same way you would for a regular meet. the meet is on Saturday, July 13th, at the Scottish Hills pool. The groups most needing swimmers are 6 & under boys, 7/8 boys, 11/12 boys, 15-18 girls, and 15-18 boys. All other groups would still benefit from additional swimmers so that we could form more relays!! See this previous email for all the details!
Reminder: Emergencies after the Swimmer Declaration deadline
If an emergency arises due to sickness or injury, here’s who to contact.
- Pre-meet (before 4pm Tuesdays): if an emergency arises and a child will be missing all or part of a meet please inform the coaches of the change as soon as possible by emailing them at: [email protected].
- At the meet (after 4pm Tuesday): please talk to Coach Lauren if something arises after 4pm on Tuesdays/during the Meet. If you cannot attend at all, please email the coaches AND text a friend to tell Coach Lauren when they arrive. Coaches may/may not get emails after 4pm Tuesdays once they are in route to the pool.
Pre-Meet Warm-Up + Volunteer Schedule
- 4:45pm - Swimmer families arrive
- Volunteers, check-in as you arrive, by 5:30pm at the latest.
- 5:25 pm: SVKW Warm-Ups
- 5:45pm: All Volunteer meetings (ask for location when you check-in)
- 5:55pm: Team cheer with all swimmers.
- 5:55pm: 7-8 medley relays line up, all other relay swimmers should stay close by and be ready to go.
Meet Information:
The Lochmere Monsters would like to welcome the SVKW to the TSA swim meet to be held at the Recreation Club of Lochmere. We are looking forward to a great meet!
TSA Rep: Make sure to find your SVKW TSA Rep if you have any concerns or issues that arise with the other team during our meet. Please refrain from bringing up issues directly with the opposing team coaches, swimmers, and parents.
Location: We are located at 500 Lochmere Drive, Cary. From US 64: Take Tryon Rd. Exit to Kildaire Farm Rd. Turn right at the light at Kildaire Farm Rd. Continue to the 2nd light, and turn left onto Lochmere Drive. Continue on Lochmere Drive for about 1 mile. The Swim Club will be on your right.
Parking: We have plenty of parking spaces, but we do encourage carpooling. If you are unable to find a space in the lot, street parking is allowed, BUT NOT ON LOCHMERE DRIVE. Additionally, cars parked along the side streets and cul-de-sacs must remain back 20 feet from the stop signs. CaryPolice will be monitoring the streets so we do not want you to be ticketed or have your car towed.
Per TSA Rules, Our pool opens at 4:45 PM. The visiting team usually sets up on the immediate left side of the pool as you enter the deck area.
Pool Restrictions: Please note that we do not allow balls or water guns of any kind on our deck during swim meets.
Concessions: The swim team concession stand will be serving, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and pizza along with snacks and drinks (Coke products, Gatorade, water) for purchase. Brewer’s Italian Ice will also be on hand. If you haven’t experienced their product on a hot night, you are in for a treat.
Volunteer Shout Out:
A huge thank you goes to our Social Coordinators, Sarah and Amanda, for organizing the Tie Dye event. It was a fantastic night and we can't wait to see everyone's creations this week.
